Bowleriffic Fundraiser

Help Philadelphia area teenagers raise money for their photo-journalism service-trip to Colombia! Motivos magazine has facilitated bringing and hosting 40 Colombian exchange students in Philadelphia over the past two years. This June, Motivos will take the lead in bringing a group of young Philadelphia-based photo-journalists on a language and cultural exchange to Colombian. Exchange objectives include strengthening language skills, building and maintaining friendships, sharing cultures, and getting beyond cultural stereotypes via journalistic practices. Our youth will, first hand, practice what it means to be the voice of those often unheard, to look for stories in places that are often over-looked, and to share the positive aspects of cultures and peoples that are regularly overshadowed by the negative actions of violent factions in their midst. We also plan to document the work of Philadelphia-based Stetson Shutterbugs while they work with a group of Colombian youth to tell their story through photos. Help our students stretch their minds, grow their skills, and forge international friendships by attending this event and/or purchase a ticket for a friend. $20 before hand, $25 at the door.
